The first ski lifts were built between 1965 and 1967. They were a “high ropeway ski lift” and a “single-seater chairlift”. These lifts, which were installed one after the other, allowed riders to get to an altitude of 2362m. The Costaccia mountain hut was later built at this altitude.

The first slope opened was known as “Li Zete”.
The initiative was a success: the downhill sport continued to grow in popularity and to be enjoyed by an increasing number of people.

Twenty years later, between 1985 and 1987, the two ski lifts were joined by two new double-seater chairlifts. This allowed for a considerable increase in overall hourly capacity.

In 1993, the “Valandrea Vetta” four-seater chairlift was built and the related slope, “Bellavista”, was prepared. The idea of installing a chairlift at 2400m initially caused a great deal of controversy, but it quickly proved its worth. The trail, which owes its name to the spectacular view that it offers, became a fast favourite with skiers.

1997 saw the installation of the four-seater chairlift “Fontane – Vetta”, whose “Rin” track is still well-known to this day for being particularly sheltered from the wind. The new chairlift had the great advantage of making it possible to move between the Sitas Ski Area and the Carosello 3000 Ski Area. The innovation once again made for momentous advances in skiing!

Finally, between 2007 and 2009, the double-seater chairlifts were replaced with two modern automatic gondola lifts. Thanks to the speed of the new ski lifts and the eight-seater cabins, the hourly rate was increased to an incredible 2400 people per hour.
This last step was key from the Ski Area, as it allowed a for a real leap in terms of quality!
